Fireweed – Along the roadsides of Newfoundland

It seems my recent visit to St. John’s, Newfoundland was well timed.

In addition to seeing magnificent landscapes, whales and Common Murres on an outing with O’Brien’s tours, I saw puffins and even participated in a “puffin patrol” one evening – and the subsequent release of young puffins out on the waters the next day.

For now, though, I’ll begin by showing you the fireweed that was in gorgeous late bloom almost everywhere I drove.
